The Delhi Police has issued a crucial notice addressing the no-fly zone and the prohibition of specific flying items in the National Capital Territory of Delhi in the lead-up to the G20 summit.

On September 9 and 10, New Delhi will play host to one of the most important geopolitical gatherings of the year: the G20 Summit India 2023. The Delhi government has declared a holiday from September 8 to 10 for the city’s educational institutions, government and private offices, including banks, in advance of the summit.

The Delhi Police has issued a crucial notice addressing the no-fly zone and the prohibition of specific flying items in the National Capital Territory of Delhi in the lead-up to the G20 summit. Delhi Police issued the message for the general public on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In preparation for the G-20 Summit in the National Capital of Delhi, it will be illegal to fly sub-conventional aerial platforms like paragliders, paramotors, hang gliders, UAVS, UASS, microlight aircrafts, remotely piloted aircrafts, hot air balloons, small-sized powered aircrafts, quadcopters, or parajumping from aircraft, among others, over the territory of the NCT of Delhi as of August 29, 2023.

This will be in effect for 15 days or until September 12, 2023. The Indian Penal Code’s Section 188 would be applied to punish those who violate the order.

As per the official notice, “Now therefore, I Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973 read with Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi’s Notification No. U-11036/3/1978 (i) UTL dated 01.07.1978, do hereby prohibit flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms like para- gliders, para-motors, hang-gliders, UAVS, UASS, microlight aircrafts, remotely piloted aircrafts, hot air balloons, small sized powered aircrafts, quadcopters or even by para-jumping from aircraft etc over the jurisdiction of the NCT of Delhi during the G20 Summit 2023 in the National Capital of Delhi and doing so shall be punishable u/s 188 of the Indian Penal Code”.

“As the notice cannot be served individually on all concerned, the order is, hereby, passed ex-parte. It shall be published for information of the public through press and affixing copies on the notice boards of the offices of all DCSP/Addl. DCSP/ACSP/Tehsil Offices, all Police Stations and Offices of the NDMC/MCD/PWD/DDA/Delhi Cantt. Board,” it further said.
