After incidents of other departments seeking or getting hold of documents of the Public Works Department, Delhi PWD Minister Atishi has directed officials to not share any files with other departments without receiving written instructions.
According to officials, this is the second time PWD has been asked to not share files with other departments without receiving written instructions.

“It has been brought to my notice that certain departments are asking for PWD files – either in original or shadow files – without giving written instructions for the same. It is hereby directed that no files (in original or shadow files) are to be given to any officer or department (outside of PWD) without receiving written instructions,” said Atishi in an order issued to PWD.
Atishi’s orders also came after the recent case of the matter of the renovation of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s house. As the matter sparked controversy, following media reports the Vigilance Department started an investigation and several files related to renovation were taken away, said officials.
“Several departments are asking for files related to various road works or other important projects. So, the instructions have come from the PWD minister,” said a department official.
