Delhi Police visits WFI chief Brij Bhushan’s UP home, records statements of associates, employees

The Delhi Police has recorded statements of associates of outgoing WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and people working at his residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda as a part of investigations into sexual harassment allegations towards him, officers mentioned on Tuesday.

In addition they mentioned the lady whose assertion was the premise of a case being registered towards Singh below the Safety of Youngsters from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has recorded a recent assertion below the Code of Legal Process (CrPC) part 164.

The officers mentioned police are gathering proof in reference to the case filed towards the BJP MP, and can submit a report in court docket accordingly.

“A staff of Delhi Police visited Gonda and recorded statements of Singh’s associates and people working at his home, together with his driver. That is being carried out as a part of additional investigation to gather proof and corroborate variations of the witnesses with that of Singh and the complainants within the case,” an official mentioned.

“Because the case could be very delicate, we can’t reveal any info relating to it,” he added.

The staff checked their IDs and famous their addresses whereas recording the statements, police added.

The nation’s high wrestlers, together with Olympic medallists Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, are protesting towards the outgoing Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief, whom they’ve accused of sexually harassing ladies.
