According to the official statement, vehicular movement will be restricted on National Highway-48 from midnight on September 7 until midnight on September 10.

Delhi Police and Gurugram traffic police have released a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the G20 Summit in Delhi, informing about the restrictions on vehicular movement. According to the official statement, vehicular movement will be restricted on National Highway-48 from midnight on September 7 until midnight on September 10.

The advisory also urged people to use the metro for transportation during the two days of the G20 Summit (September 9–10) because bus access to Lutyens’ Delhi, where the summit’s venues are located, will be limited.

The restriction order will go into effect at midnight on September 7 and remain in place through September 10 at midnight. Special Commissioner of Police, Traffic, SS Yadav announced that a virtual help desk listing accessible transport options and nearby medical services will be made available on the Delhi Police website.

“There will be no effect on ambulance movement or essential services. However, there will be restrictions on plying of city buses in the New Delhi area. But there will be no restrictions on Delhi Metro. People are advised to use the Metro for commuting to their destination,” he said.

G20 Summit: Traffic advisory

Vehicle traffic on NH-48 may be temporarily stopped at regular intervals between September 8 and September 10 due to the increased activity of delegates travelling along the Delhi-Gurugram route at this time.
All public bus services will have to use routes from Rajiv Chowk, MG Road, Sikanderpur Metro Station, and Nathupur Red Light to enter Delhi.
Heavy vehicles entering Delhi from Sohna Road, NH-48, Pataudi Road Gurugram, and Farukh Nagar Gurugram Road will have to use the Western Peripheral Expressway or Kundli–Manesar–Palwal Expressway.
People living in Lutyens’ Delhi or tourists with hotel bookings there would be permitted to go by auto rickshaw and cab.
People coming from Delhi Airport to Lutyens’ Delhi will only be allowed entry after proper verification of ID cards.
Road travel to IGI Airport will be affected from September 8 to 10.
Intestate buses will be allowed to enter Delhi but not allowed to terminate at the Inter-state Bus Terminals.
For ambulance assistance services, people can call 6828400604. The service will be launched on the night of September 7.
According to officials, 10,000 police personnel will be on ground to ensure smooth traffic movement in the city during the summit which will be held on September 9 and 10 at the International Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan.
Interstate buses will also be allowed entry into Delhi. All such buses will have terminating points on the Ring Road.
All types of goods vehicles, commercial vehicles, interstate buses and local city buses such as Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses and Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) buses will not be allowed to ply on Mathura Road (beyond Ashram Chowk), Bhairon Road, Purana Quila Road and inside Pragati Maidan Tunnel from 0000 hours on the intervening night of 07 and
September 8 to September 10.
In view of the traffic regulations, motorists might experience longer travel times than usual and are requested to make maximum use of metro services, especially the Airport Express Line (Orange Line) connecting New Delhi Station to Dwarka Sector 21 Station via IGI Airport T3, it added.
