Asian Hall of Fame Celebrates Diversity and Talent at the Upcoming Celebrate Asia Festival 2024.
The Asian Hall of Fame is set to host its Celebrate Asia Festival at the Biltmore Los Angeles on Wednesday, May 1. This event is not just a celebration of Asian heritage and achievements but also serves as an annual benefit for the Women Founders Fund, aimed at supporting women of diverse backgrounds in technology, entertainment, and the arts.
The festival will kick off with a Getty Images red carpet event, drawing national and foreign press, influencers, local leaders, and world-class artists. The list of confirmed guests includes notable inductees such as Julia Gouw, Charlie and Ling Zhang, Noel Lee, and Momo Wang, alongside the Consulate General of Hungary and Asian Advocacy Prize winner Brandon Tsay.
A highlight of the evening will be the announcement of the Class of 2024 by inductee Jiaoying Summers, accompanied by executives from major corporations like Disney, Wells Fargo, Millennium, Illumination, and KROST. Adding to the cultural richness of the event, the Yaya Zhang Dance Studio will perform a blend of contemporary and heritage dance pieces.
The Asian Hall of Fame’s President & CEO, Maki Mae, known for her performances on America’s Got Talent, will grace the stage with renditions of Phantom of the Opera, Queen of the Night, Time to Say Goodbye, and a Lakme duet with inductee Ren Hanami. Furthermore, Project Runway winner Kentaro Kameyama will showcase his Spring collection “A sign of…” accompanied by his original piano compositions.
The runway will feature a diverse array of models, including Kristen Lui, Juri Watanabe, JinYe, actress Camilla Shae, influencer Jackie Ho, and Yoshi Yamamoto. In a bid to foster young talent, music director Ed Roth will perform alongside Asian Innovation Award winner Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja of American Idol and 15-year-old Aubrey Leonard.
In support of women in media and entertainment, grants will be awarded to CAPE, ACMA, and John Muir Choir Director Lydia Lee. The event will also feature the Asian Hall of Fame’s signature Charity Boutique, offering Mother’s Day discounts on luxury gifts and mystery boxes containing cultured pearls, with complimentary gift bags donated by Manna Kadar.
