Caroline Yang, the CEO of bunker vessel operator Hong Lam Marine, has been re-elected president of the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA) for a third term.
With close to 30 years of experience in the shipping industry, Yang was first elected in 2019, becoming the first female to helm the over 485-member association since its inception in 1985.
She is currently also one of the four vice-chairs of the International Chamber of Shipping and a board member of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and the Singapore Maritime Foundation.
Yang will be supported by two vice presidents and the SSA Secretariat, headed by Michael Phoon as executive director. The two vice presidents nominated by the council are René Piil Pedersen, managing director of AP Moller Singapore and Katie Men, managing director of Iseaco Investment.
