COVID hero Captain Tom Moore’s charity has stopped raising cash – but has continued to pay his daughter Hannah a hefty salary.

Newly-filed accounts reveal the foundation – set up after veteran Captain Tom, 99, raised millions for NHS Charities Together – paid Hannah Ingram- Moore £63,750 plus £7,602 in expenses.

The Captain Tom Foundation also paid out almost £48,785 in legal fees, paperwork reveals.

The accounts – for the 18-month period from June 1, 2021 to November 30, 2022 – reveal the charity raised £402,854 – down from £1,058,676 collected in the previous year.

But spending increased to £680,876 from £400,637 in 2021.

It included Hannah’s salary – for the 2021-2022 year – plus expenses.

The Ingram-Moore’s company, Maytrix Group Limited continued to receive payments.

It was paid £24,206 – £21,750 for office rental plus telephone costs of £2,456.

It rental costs have been reduced to £750 from £1,500 “due to less office space being required”.

The accounts – filed at Companies House today – come after we told in July how Hannah and Colin had built the spa and pool complex at the £1.2 million Bedfordshire home where Capt Tom completed laps of the garden for charity during lockdown.

They told planners they wanted an office for the charity set up in Capt Tom’s name – then built a 50ft by 20ft pool house with changing rooms, toilets and showers.

They used the charity’s name in the design and heritage statement then applied for retrospective planning permission for the spa.

Accounts reveal the foundation gave out £210,000 in grants, which included £50,000 to Youth Network, £50,000 to Minds Trust and £25,000 to the Florence Nightingale Charity.

Its spending included £48,785 on legal fees as well as advertising and marketing expenditure at £24,541 and staff costs at £179,509 for employees.

The Ingram-Moore company Maytrix Group Limited continued to receive payments as did Hannah Ingram-Moore.

Maytrix netted £24,206 while Hannah received £7,602 in expense payments and the £63,750 gross salary.

Hannah has now resigned as a Director of the foundation but husband Colin’s directorship is still active.

A Charity Commission probe into the foundation began in March 2022.

And a note on the foundation’s website – dated July 2023 – says: “The sole focus of the Captain Tom Foundation is to ensure that it co-operates fully with the on-going Statutory Inquiry by the Charity Commission. As a result the Captain Tom Foundation is not presently actively seeking any funding from donors.”

Capt Tom lifted the nation’s spirits during Covid by walking in his Bedfordshire garden in the run-up to his 100th birthday. He raised almost £39million for the NHS.

He was knighted and honoured with an RAF flypast and received 225,000 100th birthday cards.

The nation mourned when he died in February 2021.

Last month, Hannah took a potshot at critics – posting a social media snap of her pets on a sofa with the caption: “Dogs don’t judge.”
