Coffee, on Clarence is a charming, straight to the point named coffee shop that sits on Clarence Drive (just past the Harold Porter National Botanical Gardens) as it passes through the beautiful little coastal town of Betty’s Bay. Inside it is filled with all manner of art, home bakes, curios, and games for sale, all of which complements the good coffee, delightful slices of cake and fluffy pastries that they have waiting for you to pick up.
The coffee/deli/gift shop features a small menu with some light sandwich options on offer, and best of all, they have a lovely outdoor shaded deck area with communal seating, perfectly positioned so that you can people watch as the occasional car drives through this fun little Overstrand getaway town.
They’re very small, and super popular, so on this particular visit we had to wait a little while for some of their better seats to open up, but once they did we had a thoroughly enjoyable visit filled with cake, coffee, and little sandwiches, while the girls set about talking the head off one of their other (very patient) guests who happened to have a particularly fluffy and loveable dog sitting with him! ????
It’s lovely, well worth a stop if you ever find yourself wandering about Betty’s Bay.
