Montreal’s bike-share service is expanding to Terrebonne, with three stations set to be installed in the off-island suburb as of Friday.

A collaboration with exo in celebration of the city’s 350th birthday, the new service in Terrebonne aims to facilitate movement between “tourist attractions, shopping areas, leisure facilities and public transport” in the area, Bixi said in an email to users on Thursday.

In April, Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante announced the city will be launching a pilot project this year to make Bixis available year round. At the time, Plante also announced 36 new Bixi stations would be available for the 2023 season.
In 2022, the bike-share company set ridership and membership records when they jumped by 55 per cent and 30 per cent respectively over the previous year.
According to Bixi’s website, there are more than 600 stations across the island of Montreal, Laval and Longueuil.
