On Tuesday, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and two private sector banks, HDFC and ICICI, received threatening emails accusing them of orchestrating the ‘biggest scam in the history of India.’
The sender, claiming to have planted bombs at 11 Mumbai locations, demanded the resignation of Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and RBI governor Shaktikanta Das.
The emails insisted on immediate resignations and a press statement disclosing the alleged scam, calling for appropriate punishment.
