ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 24. The
Austrian business delegation will visit Turkmenistan in December
this year, Trend
reports.
This was discussed during a meeting between the Minister of
Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Federal
Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of
Austria Alexander Schallenberg on the sidelines of the Central
Asia-EU Ministerial Meeting.
Noting the dynamic nature of relations between the countries,
the interlocutors stressed the importance of coordination in the
international arena, especially within the UN.
Special attention was paid at the meeting to the UN resolutions
initiated by Turkmenistan and related to transport, energy, ecology
and security.
The meeting also discussed the possibilities of strengthening
cooperation between Central Asia and the OSCE, where Turkmenistan
confirmed its readiness to actively cooperate with the
organization
Particular attention was paid to Turkmenistan’s interaction with
Afghanistan in the interests of regional stability, where the
parties spoke in favor of the implementation of humanitarian and
economic projects aimed at restoring peaceful life in
Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, on October 23, Luxembourg hosted the 19th EU-Central
Asia Ministerial Meeting, which was attended by representatives of
all Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan,
Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The main purpose of this meeting was
to discuss issues of cooperation and search for solutions to
current problems.
