Australian man that fell overboard Royal Caribbean cruise identified

The Australian man who fell overboard whereas on a Royal Caribbean cruise has been recognized, in accordance with Australian information retailers.

The person has been recognized as 35-year-old Warwick Tollemache.

Mr Tollemache, from Brisbane, fell from the fifteenth deck whereas aboard the Quantum of the Seas cruise ship on 26 April. Search and rescue efforts went underway instantly in collaboration with the US Coast Guard to seek out Mr Tollemache.

However by Friday, the search was known as off.

“Our household is heartbroken on the lack of our beloved Warwick,” Mr Tollemache’s household mentioned in a press release, as reported by 9 Information Queensland.

They added, “He was a form, lovely, and delicate soul who was adored by everybody who knew him. He will likely be deeply missed.”

In accordance with 9 Information Queensland, officers concerned within the search consulted with Mr Tollemache’s household earlier than calling off the search.

The tragic incident occurred roughly 500 nautical miles south of Kailua Kona, Massive Island, Hawaii on Wednesday night.

The ship, which departed from Brisbane on 12 April was anticipated to reach in Honolulu, Hawaii at present, 28 April.

In a press release supplied to The Impartial, Royal Caribbean Worldwide mentioned, “The ship’s crew instantly launched a search and rescue operation and is working carefully with native authorities.”

Crew aboard the Quantum of the Seas contacted the Joint Rescue Coordination Middle Honolulu for help. The cruise ship remained on the scene for roughly two hours earlier than handing over the search to the US Coast Guard.

Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Level C-130 Hercules despatched crew to seek for the person for six hours, in accordance with a press launch from the Coast Guard. 

It’s unclear how Mr Tollemache fell overboard. Royal Caribbean mentioned out of respect for the household, they didn’t need to share additional details about the occasion.
