New Delhi: The Australian government took an important step on Tuesday by organizing an informative event in Delhi aimed at assisting prospective Indian students in navigating the intricacies of higher education in Australia. The day-long event, hosted by Australia’s Trade and Investment Commission, showcased the government’s commitment to attracting students from around the world. Attendees were provided with a comprehensive overview of the student visa application process, available scholarships, and the vibrant student life in Australia.
This event drew the active participation of both students and their parents, who had the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from 15 prestigious Australian universities. Dr. Monica Kennedy, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner at Austrade, emphasized the agency’s dedication to helping Indian students make well-informed decisions about their education.
Dr. Kennedy highlighted that the Study Australia Showcase, organized by Austrade, is a platform where the most current, reliable, and relevant information is provided to students, parents, educational counselors, and agents.
Australia’s allure to Indian students has grown significantly, driven by its exceptional education system, promising post-study employment prospects, and a high quality of life. According to a release by the agency, as of June 2023, more than 98,000 Indian students have chosen Australia as their preferred destination for higher education.
Australia’s educational institutions have continued to garner global recognition, as evident in the recently unveiled QS World University Rankings 2024. Notably, three Australian universities secured positions in the global top 20, with a total of nine institutions making it to the top 100. Impressively, 95 percent of Australian universities maintain a strong global ranking.
