Assam Rifles rescues 6 civilians kidnapped by NSCN cadres in Dimapur, 5 held

By Anupam Mishra: The Assam Rifles rescued six civilians who have been held captive for ransom in Dimapur on Wednesday. The hostages have been kidnapped by NSCN cadres between April 13 to 27 and their members of the family have been contacted for ransom. The safety forces have arrested all of the accused who have been concerned within the kidnapping.

The NSCN cadres concerned within the crime have been recognized as SS Lt Khenito Assumi, SS 2nd Lt Neison, SS Lance Cpl Mughahuto, SS Sgt Chonpenthung Murry, and SS Sgt Katoho Yeptho.

The people have been rescued from Bamanpukhri Home, which is reportedly a spot recurrently used bythe NSCN IM. The hostages have been recognized as Mulutayo Kezo, Akito Sumi, Raju Gupta, Raj Kumar Das, Piyar Ali, and Huvito Sumi.

In line with sources, Mulutayo Kezo, the headmaster of Govt Excessive College, Kikruma, Phek, was kidnapped on April 25. Akito Sumi, a resident of the Burma camp in Dimapur, was kidnapped on April 27. Raju Gupta, a resident of Decide Bazaar village in Aarah district, Bihar, was kidnapped on April 21. Raj Kumar Das, a resident of Lanka village in Assam, was additionally kidnapped on April 21. Piyar Ali, a resident of Lahorijan village in Karbi Anglong, Assam, was kidnapped on April 13. Huvito Sumi, a resident of Half Nagarjan village in Dimapur, was kidnapped on April 27.
