Emergency management commissioner Rick Nugent has confirmed that 220,000 homes and businesses in Victoria are still without power.
Mr Nugent warned that some people could face a week-long wait before their home or business is restored with power.
“I understand around 50 per cent of the people who lost power now have power back again … so around 220,000 [homes and businesses] are still off,” Mr Nugent said.
“It is possible … up to a week in some areas,”
“Our focus at the moment is getting access to there, clearing the roads and getting access to all of the critical infrastructure.”
