An American man has been hit with a string of gun-related charges after crossing the border into Abbotsford.
According to a statement from the Canada Border Services Agency, Andrew Case was attempting to enter Canada in transit to Alaska on May 6, 2023, when he was referred for secondary examination.

During their inspection, border services officers found three prohibited firearms in Case’s vehicle as well as a silencer and two overcapacity magazines, all of which are prohibited.

On Aug. 1, Case was charged with three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, three counts of possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized, two counts of possession of prohibited devices, one count of possession of a firearm in a vehicle and one count of making false statements.
Case is scheduled to appear in court in Abbotsford on Oct. 19, 2023.
