The Montreal police arson squad is investigating after a car was discovered burning in the St-Laurent borough early Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to calls at 4:30 a.m. concerning a vehicle on fire in the parking lot of a commercial building on Wright St., near Benjamin Hudon Blvd., close to the Rockland Shopping Centre. Another car parked nearby was scorched by the flames. No damage to nearby buildings or injuries occurred and no arrests have been made.

The manner in which the fire was set is still unknown, Montreal police spokesperson Const. Jeanne Drouin said. Arson investigators were analyzing the scene Monday morning.
It’s the second vehicle fire reported in four days in St-Laurent. On Friday, a car was set ablaze on Tait St., near Côte-Vertu Blvd., around 5 a.m. A suspect was seen fleeing the scene. No injuries or arrests were reported in that fire.
