Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday received an invite to attend the Ram Mandir temple consecration ceremony on January 22 via speed post. The move has further angered Sena workers and leaders who have been expressing their displeasure over not sending the invite to Uddhav.
Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said, “You are giving a special invitation to the celebrities and film stars. They had nothing to do with Ram Janmabhoomi. But you are treating the Thackeray family this way? The Thackeray family had played a major and important role in the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation. Lord Ram will not forgive you and will curse you for this. You are praying to Lord Ram but running the government like Ravana.”
Centre warns media, social media against publishing fake news
The Centre on Saturday issued an advisory to media outlets and social media platforms cautioning them against publishing any false or manipulated content related to the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22.
The advisory, by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, said it was observed that “unverified, provocative, and fake messages were being spread, especially on social media, which can disturb communal harmony and public order”.
It asked newspapers, private satellite TV channels, and publishers of news and current affairs on digital media to refrain from publishing and telecasting any content that may be false or manipulated or has the potential to disturb communal harmony or public order.
