“You’ve done the Grouse Grind?” Edwards asked with a hint of surprise of the challenging North Vancouver hike.
“You get to the top and you drink that smoothie,” Black replied, likely referring to the Peak Juice Bar’s Grouse Grind Recovery sip that features a blend of strawberry, banana, coconut milk and plant protein.
Referred to as “Mother Nature’s Stairmaster” on the trail website, the Grouse Grind is a 2.9-kilometre trail that takes hikers up the face of Grouse Mountain. With an elevation gain of 2,624 feet, an includes 2,830 stairs. The trail typically takes hikers two to 2.5 hours to complete.
