Rough seas pounded Baja California Sur on Friday, October 20, as Hurricane Norma approached western Mexico. Norma was approaching the Baja California peninsula as a Category 3 hurricane, Mexico’s civil protection agency said. The storm was expected to bring winds of up to 80 mph along with torrential rainfall, according to the agency. Hurricane conditions were expected to begin impacting the area on Saturday and would last through Sunday, the National Hurricane Center said.
