Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) on Sunday warned the GOP will face “enormous” losses within the 2024 elections if her fellow Republican lawmakers don’t rein of their anti-abortion extremism.
Mace, showing on ABC Information’ “This Week,” urged Republicans to “discover some center floor” or face electoral wipeout subsequent 12 months.
“As a Republican, conservative, constitutional conservative who’s ‘pro-life,’ I noticed what occurred after ‘Roe v. Wade’ as a result of I symbolize a really purple district, as purple as this gown. And I noticed the sentiment change dramatically,” stated Mace.
Republicans “have to learn the room on this challenge,” continued Mace, whose requires exemptions in instances of incest and rape, partly on account of her personal expertise of being raped when she was a teen, has drawn backlash from different conservatives.
“The overwhelming majority of oldsters should not within the extremes,” she famous.
And the pursuit, and enactment, of strict limiting abortion bans was “the incorrect message heading into ’24,” she added. “We’re going to lose enormous if we proceed down this path of extremities.”
