Woman, 73, dead after pedestrian collision in northeast Edmonton

City police are investigating after a 73-year-old woman died after being struck by a vehicle while walking on a marked crosswalk in northeast Edmonton Sunday.

Edmonton police were called at around 9:15 p.m. to respond to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, said a Monday news release from police. It was reported that a woman was crossing 118 Avenue at 57 Street at a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a red Dodge Nitro travelling westbound on 118 Avenue.
