The talented young sportswoman died aged 11 in a tragic accident on holiday in Spain with her family on Monday
The rugby and GAA community in Wicklow should have been preparing to celebrate the Olympic debuts of their three rugby sevens heroines, but on Monday they instead stood united in grief at the tragic loss of 11-year-old Clodagh Phelan.
Clodagh, described as “a warrior princess”, “a fantastic little person”, lost her life at around 6.30am on Monday morning at the Club Mac hotel in the family resort of Puerto de Alcudia in the north-east of Mallorca, having fallen from a fourth floor balcony.
