A look at Tuesday’s Edmonton weather by Environment Canada.
It’s 21 C at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station early Monday, with 23 km/h winds out of the southeast.
The debilitating heat wave is at an end after Tuesday, followed by three consecutive days of rain, showers, and reasonable temperatures. This would normally be cause for celebration, but our reprieve comes at a high cost — the wildfire smoke coming from Jasper and beyond have clouded our skies and reduced our air quality dramatically.

Tuesday’s air quality health index remains locked at 10+ or ‘very high risk,’ where activity outside should be avoided.
As for the forecast, Tuesday’s high will still be 30 C with widespread smoke throughout the city and winds up to 40 km/h by noon. The skies will supposedly clear overnight, with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a risk of an early-morning thunderstorm. Wednesday that chance of showers goes up to 60 per cent, with a high of 21 C, followed by two straight days of rain.
I implore you all to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary, and make sure to visit airhealth.ca for information on how to reduce your health risk during an air quality warning.
