Pune city police Thursday booked the father and grandfather of the juvenile accused in Porsche crash case in another offence of abetment of suicide in connection with the death of a businessman’s son in Wadgaon Sheri.
An FIR in the case was registered based on a complaint by the businessman, who runs a construction firm in Pune, regarding his son’s suicide, at the Chandan Nagar police station on January 12, this year.

Police had booked a friend of the businessman’s son in this case under sections 306, 504, 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
As per the FIR, the businessman had taken a loan from the father and grandfather of the boy at five per cent rate of interest for business purposes. But he could not return the money, which led to a dispute between the accused and businessman’s son.
Due to this the businessman’s son had allegedly died suicide at their house on January 9, police said.
Police sources confirmed that family of the deceased has submitted an application regarding the alleged involvement of father and grandfather of the accused juvenile in the Porsche car crash, in the suicide case.
Police said they have Thursday named five persons including father, grandfather of minor boy, as accused in the case charging them for abetment of suicide offence.
Police have also invoked section 420 (cheating), 34 of IPC in this case,
Meanwhile, the minor’s grandfather, Thursday filed an application in the Bombay High Court through his lawyer Ashutosh Srivastava claiming that he was wrongfully detained by the Pune city police in the FIR lodged by his driver, who was allegedly kidnapped and forced to take blame for the Porsche car accident.
The application stated that police allegedly did not follow the law as per the provisions of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) while detaining him in this offence. The high court is yet to hear the application.
The minor boy on May 19 was allegedly driving the Porsche at high speed under the influence of alcohol when the car crashed into and killed two software engineers who were on a bike.
Police lodged three FIRs related to the case. The first FIR was lodged against the minor at the Yerwada police station on the day of the accident. The boy was then taken to the Sassoon hospital for medical examination, where his blood sample was allegedly replaced with his mother’s blood.
Police arrested his father, mother, along with Dr Ajay Taware, the former head of the forensic department of Sassoon Hospital, Dr Shrihari Harnol, who was the casualty medical officer at the time, and a Class IV employee Atul Ghatkamble, for allegedly changing the minor’s blood sample by taking financial favours.
While the juvenile is in observation home till June 12, a court has extended his parent’s police custody till June 10 and the others till June 7.
The father was initially arrested along with the owner, managers of the two restaurants where his minor son had allegedly consumed liquor before the accident, in the second FIR lodged by the police under sections of the Juvenile Justice Act.
Meanwhile, the minor’s grandfather, who is now under judicial custody at Yerwada Central Prison, was arrested along with his father in the third FIR lodged by a driver employed by the family, who alleged that the duo kidnapped and forced him to take the blame for the May 19 accident.
