The retired justice served as the chief guest at an award ceremony hosted by the Dhorde Patil Charitable Trust in Pune, which took place at Balgandharva Ram Mandir on Jangli Maharaj Road on Friday.
During his address to the public, the Justice encouraged people not to forget their rural culture and to extend a helping hand to those in need.
He said, “It is unfortunate that 70 per cent of our society is unaware of their fundamental rights. Article 21 in the Indian Constitution grants the right to education, yet rural people often struggle to access its benefits.”
