Kenya’s top diplomat Musalia Mudavadi kicked off a three-day official visit to China on Wednesday, where he will hold talks with Foreign Minister Wang Yi and other senior officials.
The visit comes at a crucial time for ties between the two countries as the Kenyan economy struggles to repay its foreign debt, including billions in loans owed to China, and African delegations are in the midst of negotiations with Beijing over the agenda for the upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation gathering that will take place later this year.
