18-year-old woman critically injured in Vancouver crash

A serious collision at the intersection of Granville St. and King Edward Ave. on Saturday night has left an 18-year-old woman in hospital with critical injuries.

Vancouver police believe the 11 p.m. crash was caused when a Nissan Xterra, driven by a 52-year-old man, entered the intersection as the driver of a BMW was making a left turn onto King Edward Ave. The BMW was driven by a 17-year-old, who was taken to hospital along with two 18-year-old passengers. The driver and one passenger have since been discharged.

Photos from the scene show the BMW with major damage to the passenger side of the vehicle, while the Xterra has damage to the front.

The driver of the Xterra was not seriously injured and no charges have been laid.

Police are looking for any witnesses or dashcam footage of the crash.
